General Accounting & Accounts Payable
Responsibilities
The General Accounting and Accounts Payable (GAAP) division is responsible for:
- Managing the countywide financial system
- Processing various types of fiscal information for County departments, special districts, and certain other non-county agencies
- Maintaining the general ledger
- Enforcing accounting policies, procedures, and processes
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Reconciling fixed asset activity to County inventory
- Processing purchase orders
- Making vendor and contract payments
