Contra Costa County takes action to reduce emissions

In May 2005, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors initiated a process to evaluate existing and future climate protection actions which when instituted by the County would help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The process is still on-going, so check back for updates which will be posted in the future. Contra Costa County Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Report - June 2008
The June 2008 Contra Costa County Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Report supercedes the previous Inventory Report (August 2007) which was revised to reflect results of emissions calculations using more appropriate specialized information that became available in 2008 (including updated factors that reflect local transportation patterns, energy sources and waste disposal).

Contra Costa County Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Report - August 2007
This Inventory Report has been superceded by a revised Inventory Report (June 2008) which was accepted by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in July 2008. The revised Inventory Report was prepared using more appropriate specialized information to calculate emissions within Contra Costa that had not been available to the County in 2007 (including updated factors that reflect local transportation patterns, energy sources and waste disposal) which resulted in a significant decrease in the County’s communitywide and municipal emissions.
