Construction & Demolition Debris
(recyclable building debris sorted by type is generally accepted by more facilities and often at a lower cost; disposal facilities also accept building debris and some provide recycling)

Reusable Items (good condition)  
(bubble wrap, packing peanuts, working electronics, building materials, clothing, books, furniture, etc.)

Couches & Mattresses  
(most used couches and mattresses are not accepted for reuse, so either take them to a
disposal facility or call your garbage company to see what they would charge for a special bulky pick-up) 

Other Recyclable Items  
(entire alphabetical listing of recyclable material types - make sure to recycle everything you can through your curbside recycling service)

Electronics (broken/non-working)  
(many consumer electronics, including all televisions & computer monitors, have been deemed as Universal Waste and are banned from landfill disposal in California due to their potentially toxic characteristics) 

Disposal - Garbage & Trash
(
items that can not be reused or recycled should be disposed of at the local household hazardous waste facility or disposal facilities or call your garbage company to find out about the one or more annual extra waste pick-ups provided at no extra cost for households in most areas)

Motor Oil, Oil Filters & Tires
(most tire retailers accept used tires for a fee, additionally they are accepted at disposal facilities)

Toxic Household & Gardening Products  
(batteries, paint, oil, fluorescent light bulbs, antifreeze, pesticides, chemicals, etc.)

(yard trimmings, leaves, grass and small branches can also be placed in your curbside yard waste container or composted at home)
