Counties Care Holiday Food Fight

Thank you for closing out 2016 with an open heart and help feed families in Contra Costa County
Our Counties Care Holiday Food Fight has come to an end for 2016 -- watch the video below from our kickoff in November, and take a moment to consider how you can be a part of the fight to end hunger all year round, not just during the Food Fight!

Making 2016 another big year of giving
Contra Costa County employees are more generous than our residents probably realize.  In the fall, they donate to charity organizations representing a wide range of areas of need through the Combined Charities Campaign.

Each November and December, staff members volunteer their time, energy and resources to raising money for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Counties.  With a friendly competition between the two counties, and a little more than a decade of rivalry, our cumulative fundraising surpassed the $1.4 million dollar mark.  Even with such a spectacular achievement, County staff continues to aim higher each year.

The Food Bank greatly appreciates the support of County employees as well as that of the Contra Costa County community at large.

The 2016 Food Fight has now come to an end after kicking off on November 21. Find out soon which County departments and offices came through with the highest percentage of employees participating.  Thank you for helping families in need in Contra Costa County.

Our thanks to County Veterans Service Office Nathan Johnson for his thoughtful and inspiring letter to County employees encouraging them to take part.

Thank you for continuing to support the Food Bank!
