Alamo Municipal Advisory Council (MAC)
The Alamo Municipal Advisory Council is comprised of seven members that serve as an advisory body to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors and the County planning agency. Members are appointed to the council by the Board of Supervisors to serve the unincorporated area of Alamo. 

MAC responsibilities include parks and recreation, lighting and landscaping, land-use and code enforcement, public safety, transportation and other county services. 

Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Alamo Women's Club 1401 Danville Boulevard.

David Barclay: has served as President of numerous Homeowners Associations including Alamo Crest where he currently lives. He has been active in school fundraising and served as the Chair of the Oversight Committee responsible for implementation of a school bond. He brings great experience in land and fiscal management to the MAC.

Ed Best: has been an Alamo resident since 1973 and been involved in a variety of community activities. Most notably, as Committee Member and chair of the Alamo Parksand Recreation Committee R-7A, San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Board of Trustees, Museum of the San Ramon Valley, Board of Directors, and has served as a past Board Member for the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council Boy Scouts of America.

Aron DeFerrari (Alternate): is a criminal prosecutor for the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. He has successfully prosecuted almost every type of crime from misdemeanors to multiple defendant gang homicides. Aron is currently assigned to the Sexual Assault Unit where he prosecutes human trafficking, rape and child molestation cases. Aron is married to Kate DeFerrari, and they have two young daughters. They have made Alamo their home for the last 4 years.

Rachel Etherington (Youth Member): was born in Alamo and went to Rancho Romero Elementary School and Stone Valley Middle School, and could never think of living anywhere other than Alamo, since it is such a great community. She currently attends Monte Vista High School and is interested in local government and specifically in matters in the community she lives in, Alamo. She enjoys volunteer work and giving back to the community and in her free time she likes to be with her family and close friends.

Michael McDonald: is a former City Manager and Chief Executive of a wholesale electricity services agency. He makes Roundhill Country Club his home and is a Contra Costa County Court Appointed Child Advocate. He loves golf and dogs.

Steve Mick: is active and involved in many organizations within Alamo. He has served on Alamo Community council, the Alamo Parks and Recreation Committee R-7A, the Alamo Beautification Committee Zone 36, Board of Directors for the Alamo Improvement Association, and is a current member of the Vietnam Veterans of Diablo Valley as well as being an active member on the Veteran's Memorial Development Committee. Steve is the web-master for this website.

Susan Rock: is the mother of 4th-grade twins and an Alamo School classroom math volunteer, Pack 53 volunteer, and a team mom. She is a former vice president of a Silicon Valley software company, a former strategy executive at Accenture, and former chairwoman of the Midsummer Mozart Festival. She brings financial management and strategy expertise to the MAC.

Anne Struthers: has lived in Alamo for over twenty years and has served on numerous local PTA boards. She is currently President of the Regional Center of the East Bay, and is a Division Manager for Contra Costa County Employment and Human Services. She brings knowledge of human services and community needs to the MAC.

Jill Winspear: is a community volunteer living in Alamo for more than 10 years with her husband and teenage daughter. She is committed to the Arts and rescuing animals. She is currently serving on the board of directors for Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation. Jill also volunteers at the Lesher Center for the Arts as Marketing Chair for the Diablo Regional Arts Association.
